• Picture Party at Orleans Gardens at 4 pm on Tue 15th July . .

. . organised by the Friends of Orleans Riverside:

As Richmond Council pushes on with proposals to build a massive boathouse for the Gloriana on a protected riverside park in Twickenham – earmarking £1m to pump prime the project – local children will join the fight to save their park and existing playground on Tuesday 15 July at 4.00pm in Orleans Riverside Gardens, Twickenham.

Massing there for a ‘Picture Party’, the children will be drawing what they love about this legally protected conservation area and the pictures will be displayed around the playground and threatened trees.

“We may be the last generation to have the privilege of this historic view and experience this tranquil oasis of a park – no one can understand the logic for choosing this site” said campaigner Paul Bigley.
